Lou Sumray - documentary drawings

Drawing plays a major part in my life as a Visual Artist.  I carry a sketchbook (sometimes two, often more) wherever I go. The sketches in these books can be visual notes used to develop later into a painting or they can exist alone as  “captured moments”. I usually draw people, but not always. Drawing is a joy and the way I explore the world.
I have been spotted drawing in a sketchbook or at an easel; on the streets of Lahore, Pakistan, recording the Basant Kite Festival, in a shop window in Armley High Street at a 24 hour drawathon and inside West Yorkshire Playhouse in the Rehearsal Rooms with Chris Goode and Co.

Most recently the main body of my work has involved drawing animations, charcoal drawn and digital.

I live in Bradford
